ABOUT

Hannah "Rufus" Reineck (they/them), founder of Rufus Tiger Studio is a queer, non-binary, internationally known fine artist and illustrator. Their work reflects a passion for portraiture and is expressed in both traditional and digital illustration. They hold a degree in Printmaking with high distinction from California College of the Arts in Oakland, California. They studied art at The Royal College of Art in London, and printmaking at Il Bisonte in Florence and Laney College in Oakland. They have lived and traveled throughout Mexico and Central America, where they studied archaeology and the history of pre-Colombian art.

Hannah is a quintessential Aquarius: rebellious by nature, fascinated by the mysteries and complexities of existence, and driven by the idea that art and creativity is for everyone. Printmaking itself is inherently democratic. The multiplicity of prints offers an affordable alternative to the exclusivity of the fine art world and provides equitable access to the exchange of ideas. Hannah's art champions the ideals of equality, democracy and social justice through a queer lens as celebrities and artists are reimagined as modern folk heroes. Hannah works from their home studio in sunny Richmond, California, following their lifelong dream to make art that fosters connection and celebrates the incredible creativity, humor, and genius of their fellow humans.
